Haile King-Rubies is an artist with Down syndrome that has created a world of art with no formal training. He has been painting since age four and has been lauded for his compelling and colorful works of art. Despite his recent hospitalization for emergency heart surgery, Haile has continued his craft and has over 100 original painting in his collection. He recently gave a generous art donation to the hospital that saved his life. The 4 works of art are now part of the hospital Mount Sinai’s (on 5th Ave in New York City) permanent collection. Haile practices martial arts, plays the drums, and loves to cook. His passion, however, is painting beautiful pieces of art.
