Since Kennedy’s birth, Sonya’s outlook was never why but how.
* How could I bring awareness to Down Syndrome?
* How can I enhance Kennedy’s life and bring her to her highest potential for her family and those around her to bear witness?
* How can I create and enhance resources not just for Kennedy but for others with Down Syndrome?
Sonya Hines has answered every question above by creating an encouraging environment at home, bringing awareness in schools, and creating a nonprofit organization to inspire and give support to others in the community. I am in in awe of her strength, confidence and determination. She breaks down every wall and barrier she faces. Sonya provides her daughter Kennedy with a living example of rising above every problem to create an opportunity.
Sonya Hines is the only choice for the 2016 Outstanding Parent Rise Award.

Especially raising awareness and educating others about down syndrome. As a teacher for students with special needs, it is my prayer daily that more parents are educated, and give their child the opportunity that everyone else has. Her passion doesn’t go unnoticed. I’m thankful to know a great person with a huge ❤.

I have known Sonya for 3yrs now..i have seen the love and passion for this organization. Her daughter Kennedy is a joy and doesnt let her needs determine her future. I hope that families with kids like Kennedy understand the value in putting energy and time in developing your child to be inspired by life and that they can inspire others.
Thank you for having a vision for giving…

Hines is very passionate about kids with down syndrome. She works very hard at bringing awareness to this issue. She has not only made a commitment for her daughter, but for all kids in the community that are affected by down syndrome. The most remarkable quality of Mrs. Hines is that she refuses to allow the kids to limit their abilities because of their disabilities, she inspires them to exceed expectations!
